Groups & Field Trips
The Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem welcomes field trips and groups! Both MUST be arranged in advance. To schedule your visit, please call 723-9111, ext. 208 or email, Tuesday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

During your group visit, please note that the Museum cannot always accommodate a large group during special daily programming.

Teacher Orientation Night
Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 4:30-6:30 p.m. |
and/or Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Be our guest and learn about what’s going on at the
Museum this fall, hear our plans for 2010-11 Field Trips, and see our Storybook Discovery Trunks. Light refreshments and door prizes. There is no charge for this event. Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School Employees will receive 0.2 C.E.U. in Reading for attending this event.

Groups
Admission for groups of 15 or more children is $5 per child. Chaperones are free as long as they make up a 1:5 ratio; admission for extra adults with the group is $5.

To qualify for this special rate:
• Call and reserve your group visit in advance
• There must be at least 15 children in your group
• We REQUIRE 1 adult chaperone for every 5 children (groups not able to provide this ratio of adults to children will be charged $25 for each missing adult on the trip).
• You may pay for your group in one payment on the day of your visit.

Field Trips
The Museum offers two types of field trips:

a.
Focused Field trip -- lasts for 90 minutes and is available Tuesday-Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. OR 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. These trips are designed to meet NC Standard Course of study competency goals for particular grades. Download the new Educator Packet for 2010-11.

b. Y.O.Y.O (You’re On Your Own) visit – may be scheduled throughout the day.

We REQUIRE 1 adult chaperone for every 5 children (groups not able to provide this ratio of adults to children will be charged $25 for each missing adult on the trip).

Payment: All fees are due the day of your visit. You will need to pay with a check made out to the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem; a credit card (Mastercard or Visa); or cash.

NOTE: Family memberships do not apply to group visits.

Homes School Students and Educators
Home School Educators are free with an ID from any home school association or educational group and children receive a discounted rate of $3 each for admission Tuesday-Friday.
